Web Site

Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is focusing their statewide outreach on high school-age science students and their teachers. By targeting students who will be directed to the programming by their teachers — and who will be involved in the programming with hands-on activities — GPB Radio is reaching out to a non-typical audience, including underserved populations in both rural and urban areas.

GPB is partnering with Fernbank Science Center, known statewide for K–12 excellence in science education, to adapt The DNA Files activities to correlate with mandatory Georgia Performance Standards.

Additional activities and lesson plans for students and teachers are being developed and will be made available on the GPB website. Companion broadcast pieces include five feature segments.

Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is Georgia’s only statewide public radio, public television and education network. Headquartered in Atlanta, GPB’s 16-station public radio network serves Georgia’s secondary markets and rural areas, as well as adjoining areas of Florida, Alabama and South Carolina.
